Last week we talked about the first step to having a successful 2018. Today we take the 2nd step. It’s called “Goal Setting”. This time of year everyone sets a goal which they call “New Years Resolution”. We say things like, “I’m going to lose weight”, “I’m going to save money”, “I’m going to eat healthier”, etc… Within 30 days most have failed. Why? No planning, no true commitment, and the biggest reason for failure…Never wrote it down! Something I heard a long time ago and truly believe…”The most pale ink is better than the most retentive memory.”
Like last week the first thing you have to do is write down what you want to accomplish in 2018. Write down anything you can think of as if you knew you couldn’t fail. Make a list of 100 things. It’s not meant to be easy. Think of everything you ever wanted to achieve. All the way back to your childhood. Remember, dreams don’t die. We just hide them. Well today we uncover what we’ve been hiding. Once you’ve completed the list keep it somewhere that’s easily accessible.
Last week you were to start writing down 3 things that your are grateful for daily. Now underneath your Gratification List you write down 3 Goals that you want to accomplish that day.
Remember, your Daily Goal List should be on the same sheet and written underneath your Daily Gratification List. Just like we told you last week when you pull this sheet out 3 times per day, (Breakfast, Lunch, and before you go to bed) to review read the entire sheet. It’s a great way to make sure you’re on track to attain your daily goals.
Next week we will discuss the final step to make your 2018 the best year of your life!
